Casa, a prominent Bitcoin storage service provider, has been gaining attention among cryptocurrency enthusiasts. Naturally, Ethereum holders may wonder how they can use similar services for their Ether.

Casa - Ethereum Support

Casa has announced impending support for Ethereum. However, there are a couple of factors to consider:

1. Patience is key: The support for Ethereum is not immediate and users will have to wait. :wink:
2. Limited functionality: The initial support will only cover Ether (ETH) and not ERC20 tokens.

Gnosis Safe

Gnosis Safe is widely used by DAOs and companies that need to manage crypto assets. Currently, around 39B in assets is stored using Safe’s multi-sig wallet. The advantages of using Gnosis Safe include:

1. Open-source and free of charge.
2. Supports multiple chains.
3. Compatible with multiple wallets, including hardware wallets.

As a user, you can easily set up a Gnosis Safe wallet with a similar setup to Casa’s (2 out of 3 multisig):

1. MetaMask hot wallet.
2. Mobile Gnosis Safe app hot wallet.
3. Hardware wallet as a backup.

However, the downsides include:

1. Unlike Casa, Gnosis Safe doesn’t hold one of the keys for you, which means you’ll need to manage all keys yourself.
2. Although Gnosis Safe is a smart contract wallet, it still carries risks. We don’t yet know whether Casa’s implementation of a multisig wallet will have a lesser risk factor.
